Welcome to the web site of the Florida chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association.
Our Purpose
Florida NELA's purpose is to promote education of its members and the public in employment rights, to promote the civil rights of employees, applicants and former employees and to assist the lawyers who represent them.
Our Membership
Our membership consists of lawyers who regularly represent employees as 50% or more of their employment practice. Membership requires payment of dues and approval by the membership committee. We have Regular Members and Associate Members. Regular Members have voting rights, are eligible to hold office and access FL-NELA's listserve and Members Only section of this Website. Associate Membership is comprised of members of the Florida Bar, law students and professors not eligible for regular membership and who do not primarily or exclusively represent employers in employment matters. Associate Members are not eligible to vote, hold office or access the listserve. Full-time mediators are eligible for Associate Membership.
Membership Benefits
Discounted fees for Florida NELA CLE programs. Currently, Florida NELA presents two multi-day programs per year. The CLE programs typically alternate between the west and east coasts of Florida. Annual member directory with contact information and biographies or our members. Regular Members are eligible to participate in a member-only listserve and access to archives of employment law resources for the practitioner collected by our membership. The listserve offers members the ability to quickly get assistance from one another and alert the membership to developing issues. A listing in the Members section of this Website for other attorneys and consumers to contact you. A $25 discount on National NELA annual dues.
